The guiding principle of the Jersey Festival of Words is the celebration of the pleasure and power of words in whatever form, with something for people of all ages and backgrounds in an inclusive approach. The festival’s annual wide-ranging programme combines visiting celebrity writers from a variety of genres with the showcasing of local writing, family-friendly and children’s presentations and initiatives to encourage literacy and creativity across all platforms. In addition to literary events, this festival includes drama, film, music and visual arts, always with words at the heart. Jersey Festival of Words is run under the auspices of the Jersey Literary Festival Association, a not-for-profit association registered in the Royal Court of Jersey.
