Opened in 1983, the Jersey Arts Centre comprises the 250-seat Benjamin Meaker theatre, the Berni Gallery, a number of craft rooms, and a restaurant and bar with a second informal display area.
The Centre runs a busy programme of courses, exhibitions and performances, and also holds events at other venues which have included theatre-in-education productions in schools. It has established a strong community presence with the Jersey Youtheatre, Junior Drama and its own adult company, and is also home to performances by many local organisations, including the Jersey Film Society.
