Cantabile celebrates Candlemas, the light-filled church festival halfway between Christmas and Easter. Christians recall the occasion when the baby Jesus was presented to God in the Temple at Jerusalem and celebrated as a Light to the World. In the Middle Ages this was the day on which all the church's candles for the year were blessed.
