USA 2018 / 87 mins / Director: Assia Boundaoui
Residents of Assia Boundaoui’s neighbourhood near Chicago have been under government surveillance for over a decade. Deciding to investigate on her own, using her neighbour’s testimonies, her inquiries soon yield thousands of FBI documents proving that her Arab-American hometown was the subject of one of the largest counter terror investigations pre-9/11. This documentary shows Assia coping with the enduring impact this has had on her country, community and sense of identity.
