Amici Artium: Alexander Ullman

Jersey Arts Centre

Event Overview

British pianist Alexander Ullman has impressed audiences and critics worldwide with his deep understanding of the scores he interprets, his elegant touch and crystalline phrasing.

The 18/19 season sees Alexander debut with the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra, Barcelona Symphony Orchestra and Beijing’s NCPA Orchestra. He performs recitals in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Poland, Italy, Georgia, Mexico, Korea and his native UK. Chamber music projects include his debut at the Montreal Chamber Music Festival. In Spring 2019, Rubicon released his first album.

Alexander first came to international attention in 2011 after winning the Franz Liszt International Competition in Budapest. Born in London in 1991, he studied at the Purcell School, the Curtis Institute and the Royal College of Music.

“He heard the score with immense clarity and vision, and brought it to life as if the composer were watching over his shoulder” – Huffington Post (June 2014)

Programme includes: Haydn: Andante and Variations in F minor; Beethoven: Sonata Op. 57 “Appassionata”; Chopin: Sonata no. 2
