Event Overview

A celebration of the 10th Anniversary of the Liberation Festival with Elgar's delightful masterwork Introduction and Allegro, Mozart's dramatic Jupiter Symphony and a major premiere commissioned from Errolyn Wallen and written for the acclaimed trio Kosmos and orchestra.

Errolyn Wallen, awarded an MBE for her services to music, was the first Afro-Caribbean composer commissioned by the BBC Proms and is in huge demand globally. The new work is an exuberant musical picture-book exploring world music from gypsy music to the klezmer in a celebratory melting pot of global music.
