Lunchtime talk: Iconic women of Jersey- their lives and legacy by Lucy Layton
Jersey Library
Event Overview
Lunch time talk Friday 29 June:
Who are the iconic women of Jersey? They include famous beauty Lillie Langtry who took Edwardian society by storm when she arrived in London from her Island home. And surrealist photographer Claude Cahun whose pre-war artwork is now the toast of the contemporary art world. This talk will examine the lives of some well-known women of Jersey, as well as shining a light on those whose stories deserve to be better known. While some spent their remarkable lives in this Island, others travelled widely and their stories will take us across the world from the heights of Hollywood to the remotest region of China.
