Event Overview

occupation, liberation, reconciliation

Preview: Tuesday 7 April 5.30pm - 7pm

As part of the 75th anniversary of Jersey’s liberation from occupying forces, Jersey Arts Centre once again presents an exhibition of words on the walls on the Berni Gallery.

Seventeen Island poets have been commissioned to respond to our title and the ideas of occupation, liberation and reconcilliation. This unique and compelling word exhibition will showcase the literary skills of some of our Island poets and storytellers in relation to the past, the present and the future.

‘seventy-five years’ follows in the footsteps of ‘100 Poems’ in autumn 2014, for the centenary to mark the start of the First World War, and is in partnership with the Bailiff’s Chambers and the Government of Jersey.
